Beaded curtains instead of something with more privacy?

I'm moving into a second floor apartment and I really want to make my 2 daughters' room look girly and funky. I figured because it's the second floor, It should be ok and not a big deal concerning privacy? I know how annoying they can be when put in doorways, entranceways etc. I meant beads as a curtain for their window.

1. i would still put a solid curtain across first even something that still allows light through. there are alot of freaks out there and your childerens saftey is more important than what there room looks like.
2. It sort of depends on the layout of your apartment I guess. If it is open or not. Also be careful of beads, then tend to be loud, and after a while, probably annoying. There are similar kinds of curtains that are more fabric-y, so that might be better. I speak this from personal experience. I had beads on my door for years and then my mom got so frustrated that she made me take them down. I woke up earlier than her, and would wake her up with them, not to mention any time I went to the bathroom at night.
3. Beaded curtains will look funky however I would still have something behind them for privacy plus.
4. You're going to need the privacy. At night, with lights on you can see everything. Daughter lives on 2nd floor appartment. I like those beads. If you can't use for windows, use them as wall hangings. Would look cool that way too. You could put shades up and the beads over the shades. May be you could get shades in different colors. You'd have to look.
